re: sarah palin...the mind reels at how stupid this woman is. just a few quotes will suffice:

"'I beg to disagree with any candidate who would say we can’t drill our way out of our problem,' she says."

I’m not one though who would attribute [global warming] to being man-made.”

these people boggle my mind, because they have either not heard about the IPCC report, or they believe that they themselves have some better source of information. intuition tells me it's the influence of religion, but I'm not even sure how accepting that global warming is man-made goes against God...but, as a governor, it's more likely that she's being influenced by Big Oil than God. she made her state a crapload of money by taxing oil profits.

her stance on global warming is even more of a slap in the face to her constituents, some of whom have had to move because of climate change...like the town of kivalina, which is actually suing major companies because of damage caused by global warming.

did I mention she wants to sue the government to get polar bears off the endangered species list? what the fuck??

then there's the non-environmental issues - she supports teaching creationism in public schools, vehemently opposes abortion rights, and is completely against gay rights...this woman is a nightmare. if any Hillary supporters are taken in by McCain's obvious grab for their votes and jumping on the Republican bandwagon because she's a woman...well, they must be incredibly stupid. (this kinda sums it up.) despite her gender, this woman does not offer any kind of progress for women's rights. or any progress at all.

even though he is my least favorite person on the planet, I almost wish McCain had picked Mitt "Guy Smiley" Romney...then at least he'd lose even more of the evangelical vote and not make me embarrassed for my own gender.
